The Lead: Lynchburg topped Roanoke 72-49 in ODAC Women's Basketball action on Wednesday.

How it Happened

• Cary Beahm led RC with a game-high 23 points and grabbed eight rebounds. The Maroons shot 36.2% from the field, making 21-of-58 shots on the night. RC turned the ball over 21 times, which Lynchburg was able to turn into 27 points.
• Carolyn Noe led a balanced LC attack with 12 points. Charmaine Hairston and Sarah Coronel each had 10 points for LC. Coronel pulled down a game-high 10 rebounds to help LC to a 48-34 edge on the glass.
• With the score 11-8 with four minutes left in the first quarter, the Hornets went on a 14-2 run to close the opening frame and lead 25-10.
• LC opened up the second quarter with a 9-2 run going up 34-12 with seven minutes to play in the half.
• Lynchburg led 43-20 at the half and scored on its first two possessions of the third quarter to push ahead 47-20.
