    Assistant Women's Basketball Coach

Carter has coached in the Roanoke Valley for over 20 years, with the 14-16 Year Old Roanoke Stars AAU basketball team from 1992-2012.  During that time, Carter was also the head coach at Patrick Henry High School from 2001-2004.  During his time coaching at Patrick Henry, Carter went on as the head coach at Virginia Western Community College from 2005-2010.

Carter is a 1971 graduate of Patrick Henry High School and received his B.A. in Business Administration from Elon University in 1975.

Carter lives in Roanoke with his wife Debbie. They have two daughters, Beth and Jennie. Both daughters previously played sports in the ODAC. Beth is currently the Head Coach of Lynchburg’s Women's Volleyball team.
