The Lead: Roanoke got five goals from Ellie Armstrong as the Maroons coasted to a 20-6 win over DeSales on Tuesday morning in Fort Lauderdale.

How it Happened

• Hannah Taylor got RC on the board just under six minutes into the game with a goal that would be the first of four unanswered by the Maroons to start the game.
• After DeSales made it 4-1, Jenn Schwechheimer sparked a 6-0 run for the Maroons that was capped by an Armstrong goal that made it 10-1 with 8:37 to play in the half.
• RC led 12-3 at halftime then scored the first five goals of the second-half, pushing ahead 17-3 on a Maggie Lewis goal with 16:20 to go in the game.
• Katie Clements finished with four goals to go along with 10 draw control wins. Lewis, Taylor and Schwechheimer each had three goals. Lainey Decker had two goals, while Mckenna Polak dished out six assists.
• Carly Schoudel made seven saves in the cage for RC, which outshot DeSales 36-18. RC held a 24-14 edge in groundballs led by Emma Boris who picked up six.
