The Lead: No. 25 St. Mary's (Md.) used a big first-half as the Seahawks picked up an 18-10 victory over Roanoke on Sunday afternoon.
How it Happened
- McKenna Polak got RC on the board first with a goal at the 27:13 mark of the first-half.
- RC then took a 3-1 lead following back-to-back goals from Katie Clements.
- SMC would score 13 goals over the final 22 minutes of the half to take a 14-3 lead into the intermission.
- RC scored five of the first six goals to start the second half, with a Clements goal making it a 15-9 game with just over 10 minutes to play.
- That would be as close as RC would get as St. Mary's scored back-to-back goals to put the game away.
- Clements finished with four goals and grabbed 10 draw controls, while Polak added a pair of goals.
- Carly Schoudel finished with seven saves for RC.
- SMC held a 33-23 edge in shots and 24-14 in groundballs.
