The Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) released their 2022 Women's Lacrosse preseason poll on Monday afternoon. Roanoke College received one, 1st place vote and 86 points overall while landing at the number two spot in the poll.

The Maroons return four all conference players from a 2021 season that would see the team post an overall record of 9-4, including 5-1 in ODAC play. Three of their four loses came at the hands of a pair of nationally ranked opponents, Salisbury and Washington & Lee. Roanoke earned a berth in the 2021 ODAC Women's Lacrosse Championship Game where they fell to the Generals on their home turf. Lilly Blair (50) and Emerson Foster (46) return for their senior season after both placing in the top five in the conference in goals. Fellow senior Claire Eisenhart joined her offense teammates as 1st team All-ODAC performers last year. Another defender, Natalie Mason returns after earning 2nd team all conference honors in just her first season in Salem.

Interim head coach Zach Tamburello will look to get the season started off on the right track when Roanoke plays host to Southern Virginia on February 24th.  After a Spring Break trip to Puerto Rico, the Maroons will be back on their home turf of Kerr Stadium when they host York on March 13th, as Roanoke will only play at home in two of their first seven contests. ODAC play will get started with a trip to Lexington to face Washington and Lee on March 30th. April kicks off with visits from from Lynchburg (#4) and Shenandoh (#3) during a three-day stretch, giving Roanoke an early idea of where they stand in the conference. The season wraps up with back-to-back home games against Guilford and Randolph before the regular season finale at Randolph-Macon on the last day of the month.
