The Basics
Score:  Roanoke 19 | Bridgewater 4
Records: Maroons 9-3 / 4-1 ODAC | Eagles 4-9 / 1-3 ODAC
Location: Bridgewater, Va.

The Lead: Roanoke went on the road on Tuesday night for a matchup with Bridgewater. The Maroons came into the game looking to solidify their positioning near the top of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) standings while the Eagles came into the night on the outside of the top eight in the conference. Roanoke wasted little time in racing out to a 7-0 first quarter lead that grew to 13-2 at the half. The scoring slowed in the second half with Roanoke cruising to the 19-4, ODAC, win.

How it Happened:

  • Tiernan Connor scored off a pass from Molly Kasemeyer to open the scoring. Lilly Blair netted three consecutive goals and added a fourth later in the period. Grace Koutouzis and Emerson Foster would make it 7-0 after 15-minutes of play.
  • The Eagles would get on the board and after a second score, the Roanoke lead was 8-2. Koutouzis found Blair ahead of a Nicole Harrison Free Position goal. Blair scored two more times giving the senior seven first half scores as Roanoke held a 13-2, halftime, advantage.
  • Sydney Harrison started the second half with her second tally of the night and after a Free Position score by Bridgewater, Riley Chase scored an unassisted goal. With just one-second left in the quarter, Foster would make it 16-3.
  • Roanoke would add three, fourth quarter, scores to make it a 19-4 final, giving Roanoke their fourth ODAC win of the season.
  • Blair added seven more goals, giving her an ODAC leading 42 on the season. Foster and the Harrisons (Sydney and Nicole) each scored three times. Kyleigh Chickering got the start and was credited with the win, recording three saves before giving way to Hallie Redding.
