Junior defender McKenzie Garst (Roanoke, VA, Cave Spring)was named ODAC Women's Soccer Player of the Week announce this morning. It is the first Maroon to earn the honor during the fall season and the first of Garsts' career.

Garst, a Cave Spring product, notched two assists last week as the Maroons went 2-0 with conference wins over Bridgewater and Emory & Henry. She had an assist off a corner kick to fellow Roanoke, VA native Jessica Welfare (Roanoke, VA, Hidden Valley)for the game-winner in a 1-0 victory over the Eagles. Her second assist came off a free kick to Rebekah Adams (Springfield, VA, West Springfield)in a 2-1 victory over the Wasps.

The Maroons are currently 7-2 overall while posting a 3-0 ODAC mark to remain atop the conference standings. They will take on ODAC-foes Washington & Lee and Virginia Wesleyan at home this week, which are on Wednesday and Saturday, respectively.
