Women's Soccer Battles Meredith to Scoreless Tie in Non-Conference Action
RALEIGH, N.C. --- Roanoke women's soccer battled Meredith to a scoreless tie on Wednesday afternoon in non-conference action. The Maroons are now 3-1-1 while the Avenging Angels record stands at 2-3-1.

The Maroons held the edge in the shots column, 13-11, with both teams totaling eight shots on goal.
Carolyn Sarbacher (Dunkirk, MD, Northern) (Roanoke) and Kelsey Hopper (Meredith) collected eight saves each in an evenly matched contest.

Stephanie Parenteau (Virginia Beach, VA, Kellam) led all players with a career-high nine shots, including five shots on target for the day.

Meredith controlled possession early and outshot Roanoke, 4-1 in the first 45-minutes of action. Then the Maroons woke up to outshoot the Avenging Angels, 12-7 for the remainder of the match.

The game was played very even as Roanoke only out shot Meredith 13-11. Each goalie had eight saves.

The women will travel to Lynchburg on Friday to take on Randolph College in their ODAC-opener. Game time is scheduled to start at 7 p.m.
