GREENSBORO, NC – The Roanoke College women's soccer team defeated Guilford College in ODAC action on Wednesday evening, 3-1.  The Maroons now have a record of 8-6-2; 6-3-1 in the ODAC, while the Quakers sit with a mark of 1-17; 1-10 in ODAC play.
 
The Maroons roll on to its seventh consecutive game without a loss, tallying a record of 6-0-1 over that span.  Roanoke last accomplished that win rate in 2012 the team went 6-0-1 starting with the third game of the season.
 
The Quakers put up the first goal of the game in the 27^th minute of action.  Caroline Bishop corralled a pass from Kelli Uresti and placed in the back of the goal to give Guilford an early 1-0 lead.  The Quakers' lead would hold through the end of the first half.
 
Just shortly after the start of the second period, Roanoke's Linnea Kremer collected a loose ball in front of the goal.  Kremer slipped one past the keeper to score the equalizer, tying the game at 1-1.  The score stayed tied through the next 40 minutes, until Lauren O'Brien scored at the 85:45 mark.  Abbe Guarino tabbed the assist on the play that gave Roanoke the go-ahead score.  The Maroons tacked on one more goal just two minutes later as Kara Kapell scored the Maroons third goal of the night.
 
The Maroons outshot Guilford 29-3.  Lauren O'Briend and Kara Kapell each finished the afternoon with five shots, while Linnea Kremer tallied four.  The Maroons blanked the Quakers in corner kick opportunities, leading the charge 11-0.  Sarah Dvorak played all 90 minutes in goal and tallied one save.
 
The Maroons return to action on Friday, October 25^th as they play host to Hollins University at Kerr Stadium.  That contest is scheduled for a 7:00 PM start.
