KANSAS CITY, KS – The National Soccer Coaches Association of America has posted the 2013 NSCAA/Continental Tire All-Region Teams for NCAA Division III. Roanoke College sophomore, Nathalie Torres was named to the NSCAA South Atlantic All-Region Third Team. Torres is the first Roanoke women's soccer to be named to an NSCAA All-Region Team since Maya Kantor in 2011.
Torres, a sophomore from Wilmington, DE, picks up her first All-ODAC honors in 2013. She finished the season with 10 points, scoring five goals with two game-winners. Torres won the ODAC Player of the Week award on October 7th, after scoring three goals in the week. She scored two goals against Sweet Briar College, including the game winner, then scored a goal in Roanoke's 4-0 win over Randolph-Macon. Torres started all 19 games for the Maroons and took 24 shots.
The Maroons tallied an overall mark of 10-7-2; 8-3-1 in ODAC play. Roanoke posted an 8-0-1 record in the month of October. During the nine October games in the 2013 season, the Maroons outscored their opponents 30-3, which included seven shutouts. The Maroons also completed their eighth consecutive 10 win season, a first time accomplishment for the Roanoke women's soccer program.
