The Lead: Johns Hopkins used a trio of goals in the second half to take the 3-0 decision over Roanoke in the final day of the Shellenberger Classic at Lynchburg College.

How it Happened:

  • After a scoreless first half, Joh Ana Bengoechea put the Blue Jays on the board 52:10 minutes into the contest.
  • The Maroons held the Blue Jays scoreless for 28 consecutive minutes before Kristen Hori knocked one in the net off a rebound, giving Hopkins a 2-0 lead at the 80:24 mark.
  • JHU tacked on the final goal off a centering pass, with 0:35 remaining in the contest
  • Freshman goalkeeper Chris Martin (84:29) recorded nine saves on the day while junior Caroline Liebel (5:31) recorded one.
  • The Blue Jays held a 26-6 advantage in shots and a 6-1 lead in corner kicks.
