Caroline Liebel Named Assistant Goalkeepers Coach at Roanoke

Salem, Va. -- The Roanoke College women's soccer team has made a new addition to their coaching staff, hiring Caroline Liebel '18.

Shortly after graduating from Roanoke, Liebel is returning to help the Maroons on the sideline as an assistant goalkeepers coach.

Liebel played for the Maroons, under head coach Phil Benne, for four years, becoming a team captain in her final season with the team. She also made the ODAC All-Academic Honor-Roll from 2016-2018. She played in 21 career matches with 10 starts, posting a 0.66 career goals against average.

After taking the field for the Maroons for the last time in fall 2017, Liebel stayed involved with the game and got coaching experience, joining the Glenvar High School women's soccer team as an assistant goalkeeper coach.

During her time at Glenvar, she created goalkeeper practice plans along with assisting in creating full team practice plans.
