Salem, Va. –  Roanoke Women's Soccer has been named a Team Academic Award Winner for the 2017-18 academic year, the United Soccer Coaches announced Thursday.

A total of 778 college teams, 291 men and 487 women, earned the Team Academic Award.

Roanoke has earned this achievement for six consecutive years and seven times total (2011, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018).

The United Soccer Coaches College Women's Team Academic Award has been instituted since 1996.

To qualify for the award, a team must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) to be eligible.
