Salem, Va. –  Roanoke Women's Soccer has been named a Team Academic Award Winner for the 2018-19 academic year, the United Soccer Coaches announced Friday.

A total of 994 college teams (346 men, 648 women) earned the Team Academic Award, including 258 schools who had both their men's and women's programs among the recipients.

Roanoke has earned this achievement for seven consecutive years and eight times total (2011, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019).

The United Soccer Coaches College Women's Team Academic Award has been instituted since 1996.

To qualify for the award, a team must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) to be eligible.
