Maroons Travel To Radford For Season Opener

The Lead: The Roanoke College women's' soccer team got their 2020-21 season started on Sunday afternoon. The Maroons would make the trip south to face Radford University in both teams season opener. The Highlanders out-shot Roanoke en route to an 8-0, season opening win.

  • Radford struck first, scoring the game's first goal less than two minutes into the match. Three minutes later the score would be 2-0.
  • The first half would be played primarily in the Roanoke zone as the NCAA DI Highlanders enjoyed an 11-0 shot advantage.
  • Ellie Schad was able to get Roanoke's first shot early in the second half.
  • Radford would add three more second half scores while recording saves on each of the Maroons scoring chances.
  • Roanoke would finish with five shots while keeper, Carrington Lippi registered four saves on the afternoon.
