The Lead: Roanoke hosted Southern Virginia in a non-conference match on Thursday afternoon. The Maroons would enjoy 21-2 shot advantage, posting a 4-0 shutout over the Knights.

Highlights:

  • Just over six minutes into the match, MC Petrucelli scored her fifth goal of the season.
  • Six minutes later Petrucelli would assist on a score by Tessa Walsh as Roanoke had built a 2-0 lead just over 12 minutes into the contest.
  • With a little more than 10 minutes to play before the break, Roanoke would make it a three goal lead when Eliza Ryan found the back of the net for the third time this season.
  • Roanoke would control most of the first half action in the Knights zone, building a 13-0 advantage in shots.
  • 20 minutes into the second half, Morgan O'Neill would score off a feed from Abigail Burke.
  • Carrington Lippi picked up the win in net, playing the first half before being relieved by Taylor Gallik. Gallik recorded a pair of saves as the duo would combine for the shutout.
