Flamm, O'Neill Headline Roanoke All ODAC Performers

Six Maroons named All ODAC

The Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) announced their women's soccer post season awards on Friday afternoon. The Maroons placed six players on the three teams as well as capturing the ODAC Women's Soccer Rookie of the Year. Junior Erin Flamm was named 1st team ALL ODAC as a defender. On the second team were seniors Tessa Walsh and Lucy Perry along with defender Eliza RyanSenior Ellie Schad was named to the All ODAC third team along with freshman Morgan O'NeillO'Neill was also honored by the league as the ODAC Women's Soccer Rookie of the Year.

Flamm earned first team all conference honors for the first time. The junior returned to the All ODAC teams, making third team after her freshman year in 2018. Flamm helped to anchor a Roanoke defense that gave up just eight goals, tied for 4th best in the conference. The Maroon's .71 goals against per game was 3rd in the ODAC.

Walsh was honored by the league for the first time with her All ODAC 2nd team designation. As a forward, Walsh finished the year tied for 4th in the league with three assists. In addition, Tessa finished top 10 with 12 shots on goal, scoring one goal and finishing with five total points.

Perry earned All ODAC status for the fourth time during her career. After being named to the third time in 2017, Perry earned a spot on the second team for the past three seasons. The midfielder finished the season with two goals and three assists, including a game winning penalty shot in a 1-0 win at Randolph-Macon.

For the second consecutive season, Ryan was named second team All ODAC. A sophomore, Ryan became more of an offensive minded defender during the 2020-21 campaign. In addition to helping the Roanoke defense, Ryan scored four goals and handed out one assist, ranking fourth in the conference in goals scored. 

O'Neill wrapped up her first season for the Maroons by being named to the All ODAC third team. The forward was 2nd in the league with 37 shots and 17 shots on goal, leading to three goals. For her efforts O'Neill was recognized by the league's coaches as the ODAC Women's Soccer Rookie of the Year.

Schad was named to the All ODAC third team for the third time during her career. After being named all conference after her freshman year, Schad was once again named All ODAC in 2019. The midfielder finished the year with four goals and two assists including a game winning goal at home over Lynchburg in early April.
