SALEM, Va. – The Roanoke College women's soccer team, with less than a week until the season opener, has been picked sixth with 110 points in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) preseason coaches' poll, as announced by the conference office.

Defending champion Virginia Wesleyan has been picked to repeat after picking up 161 points and eight of the 14 first-place votes. Bridgewater is picked second with 150 points and three first-place votes while Lynchburg is third with 148 points and two first-place votes. Washington & Lee received the final first place vote along with 141 points.

Randolph-Macon narrowly edged the Maroons by one point with 111 for fifth place in the poll. Shenandoah is seventh with 103 points while Guilford rounds out the top eight with 87 points. Ferrum (9th – 62 points), Eastern Mennonite (10th – 61 points), Randolph (11th – 52 points), Averett (12th – 50 points), along with Hollins and Sweet Briar tying for 13th with 19 points to complete the poll.

RC opens the season with a pair of road contest at Greensboro on September 1 and Johns Hopkins on Sept. 4. The Maroons have their home opener against Albion on Sept. 10 as part of the 2022 Roanoke Invitational Showcase. RC will take on Sewanee the next day on Sept. 11. Lynchburg will be the fourth team and will play a pair of neutral site games against Albion and Sewanee at the event.

The Maroons hit the road for their following three games including a non-conference match up against Lynchburg on Sept. 14. RC also visits Pfeiffer on Sept. 17 and Mary Baldwin on Sept. 20. The Maroons will then host a trio of home games at Kerr Stadium beginning with their ODAC opener against EMU on Family Weekend (Sept. 24). The final non-conference game will be when they host defending national champions Christopher Newport on September 28. A game against Shenandoah on October 1 wraps up the homestand and kicks off the final nine ODAC contests of the year.

In October the Maroons will see away ODAC games at Randolph (Oct. 5), Averett (Oct. 8), Guilford (Oct. 19), Randolph-Macon (Oct. 21), and Virginia Wesleyan (Oct. 29). The remaining home games are scheduled against Washington & Lee (Oct. 12), Bridgewater (Oct. 15), and Hollins (Oct. 26).

The ODAC Tournament kicks off on November 1 with the quarterfinals with semifinal round on Nov. 4 and the ODAC Championship game on Nov. 6.
