Salem, Va. – Roanoke College Women's Swimming standout Reilly Bird is set to compete at this weekend's NCAA Division III Swimming Championships in Greensboro, N.C.
Bird, who is the first NCAA Qualifier in program history, will compete in the 100-yard backstroke. The preliminary races start at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 22, with the finals slated for 6:00 p.m.
Bird qualified for the 100 backstroke as she currently ranks seventh in all of Division lll with a time of 55.93, becoming the program's first-ever championship qualifier. The top qualifier, Crile Hart of Kenyon, posted a time of 54.53.
Bird is the 2019 Old Dominion Athletic Conference Champion in the 100 backstroke, posting a first-place finals time of 56.18 at the Championships Feb. 15-17 at the Greensboro Aquatic Center. Her NCAA seeding time of 55.93 came in the 100 backstroke prelims at the ODAC Championships. She eclipsed the NCAA B-Cut time (57.00) in both her prelim and final performances.
