The Short Story: The Roanoke College women's swim team opened up the dual meet portion of the 2022-23 season with a crushing 175.5-86.5 win over the Bridgewater College Eagles on Saturday afternoon at Nininger Natatorium in Bridgewater.
TOP FINISHES
- The Maroons kicked off the day with a first and third-place finish in the 200 Meter Medley Relay. The team of Julianna Morrow, Kate Pearson, Katie Blankinship, and Lily Mullens won the event in 2:06.70 with the team of Bailey Gallagher, Faeryn Lee, Ariana Guillory, and Paige Shaika taking third in 2:12.72.
- Roanoke went 1-2 in the 800 Meter Free with Susanna Price winning in 9:50.49 and Julia Volz taking second in 10:23.21.
- Morrow, Carter Satterfield, and Blankinship finished in the top three spots in the 200 Meter Free with times of 2:13.36, 2:17.84, and 2:19.19, respectively.
- Halle Schart and Gallagher went 1-2 in the 100 Meter Back with times of 1:09.04 and 1:11.50.
- Pearson finished the 100 Meter Breaststroke in second place with a time of 1:19.70
- Price and Nora Hein went 1-2 in the 200 Meter Fly with times of 2:36.09 and 2:46.22.
- In the 50 Meter Free, Mullens took home second place in :28.30. She followed that up with another second-place finish in the 100 Meter Free in a time of 1:02.82.
- In the 200 Meter Back, the Maroons once again took the top three spots with Morrow, Schart, and Gallagher finishing ahead of the Eagles.
- Pearson and Satterfield finished first and third in the 200 Meter Breaststroke with times of 2:49.59 and 2:54.26.
- The 400 Meter Free saw for the third time on the afternoon Roanoke taking the top three spots with Price, Rachel Garland, and Hein.
- Quinn Haley and Blankinship went 1-2 in the 100 Meter Fly with times of 1:11.53 and 1:12.23
- Schart and Satterfield took home first and second in the 200 Meter IM with times of 2:32.49 and 2:38.60
- In the final women's event of the day, the 200 Meter Free Relay, the Maroon team of Mullens, Pearson, Guillory, and Morrow finished first in a time of 1:53.89.

- The Maroons host their home opener on Saturday, October 29 when Lees-McRae visits Salem. The first event is scheduled to start at 2 p.m.
