The Short Story: The Roanoke College women's swim team dominated the Bobcats of Lees-McRae in the its home-opener on Saturday afternoon at the Salem YMCA, 171-87, to begin the year 2-0 in dual meets.

TOP FINISHES

  • In the Roanoke team of Julianna Morrow, Kate Pearson, Katie Blankinship, and Lily Mullens finished second in the 200 Yard Medley Relay to kick off the dual meet in a time of 1:52.44.
  • Carter Satterfield won the 1000 Yard Free in a time of 10:55.11, beating out the second-place finisher from LMC by nearly a full minute.
  • Susanna Price and Morrow finished the 200 Yard Free, 1st-2nd, with times of 1:58.07 and 1:58.11, respectively.
  • Halle Schart finished second in the 100 Yard Back in a time of 1:02.11.
  • Pearson took home second place in the 100 Yare Breaststroke in a time of 1:10.99
  • The Maroons went 1-3 in the 200 Yard Fly with Price (2:18.16), Blankinship (2:25.85) and Nora Hein (2:31.50) all claiming the top spots in the event.
  • In the 50 Yard Free, Mullens finished second in 24.89. She backed that up by winning the 100 Yard Free in a time of 54.94.
  • Morrow won the 200 Yard Back in a time of 2:09.03.
  • Pearson came in second place in the 200 Yard Breaststroke with a time of 2:35.19
  • Price won her second event of the day in the 500 Yard Free with a time of 5:21.71.
  • Ariana Guillory and Quinn Haley finished at the top two swimmers in the 100 Yard Fly with times of 1:02.62 and 1:03.49, respectively.
  • Schart and Pearson went 1-2 in the 200 Yard IM with times of 2:15.42 and 2:20.08
  • In the final event of the day, the team of Mullens, Guillory, Morrow, and Price won the 400 Yard Free Relay in a time of 3:42.52.
