The Short Story: The Roanoke College women's swim team finished second at the 2022 WPU Pacer Invite with 596 points, less than 20 behind Lynchburg, but still ahead of fellow ODAC opponents Randolph and Guilford. The invite took place over two days at the Triangle Aquatic Center in Cary, N.C.

TOP FINISHES

• The Roanoke team of Lily Mullens, Paige Shaika, Ariana Guillory, and Julianna Morrow opened up the meet by finishing fourth in the 200 Yard Free Relay in a time of 1:40.07.
• Halle Schart won the next event, the 400 Yard IM, in a time of 4:37.83. Kate Pearson and Bailey Gallagher finished third and fourth in the event with times of 4:40.29 and 4:41.29, respectively.
• Susanna Price finished second in the 200 Yard Free in a time of 1:55.49.
• Mullens finished second in the 100 Yard Back with a time of 59.99 with Maddie Andrews finishing fifth in a time 1:00.27.
• Price picked up her first event win of the invite in the 200 Yard Fly with a time of 2:10.98. Quinn Haley finished fifth in the event for the Maroons in a time of 2:15.02.
• The relay team of Morrow, Pearson, Guillory, and Mullens finished third in the 400 Medley Relay with a time of 4:05.66. The team of Andrews, Schart, Katie Blankinship, and Price finished fourth with a time of 4:06.34.
• Morrow, Pearson, Blankinship, and Mullens were fourth in the 200 Yard Medley Relay in 1:51.50.
• The Maroons went 1-2 in the 200 Yard IM with Schart getting her second individual win with a time of 2:10.2 with Gallagher finishing second in 2:11.99.
• Mullens finished third in the 100 Yard Free with a time of 53.69.
• In the 200 Yard Back, Roanoke went 2-3-5 with Andrews (2:09.77), Gallagher (211.17), and Schart (2:12.40) all finishing in the top five.
• Price's second event win came in the 500 Yard Free in a time of 5:08.98. Carter Satterfield finished third in the event with a time of 5:11.56.
• The Roanoke team of Blankinship, Mullens, Schart, and Price won the 400 Free Relay by less than a second in a time of 3:36.93.
