Meet: Dr. Jack Toms Alumni Invitational

The Lead: The Roanoke College Track & Field teams continued their spring seasons on Saturday, taking part in the Dr. Jack Toms Alumni Invitational at Lynchburg College.
Highlights:
- The highlight of the day was a first-place finish by the women's 4x400m relay team. The quartet of Claire Aurand, Brynn MacDougall, Lindsey Baxter and Claire Brooks won the race in a time of 4:09.15, five seconds in front of the second-place team.
- Aurand also finished fourth in the 100m with a time of 12.55. In the 200m, MacDougall placed eighth with at time of 26.15 and Aurand was ninth with a time of 26.16.
- In the 1500m race, Caity Ashley was eighth with a time of 4:58.19, just ahead of Brooks who placed ninth with a time of 4:58.57.
- Mara Briggs finished in a tie for fourth-place in the high jump, recording a 1.52m showing, while Paige Olausen narrowly missed her personal best in the javelin, with a throw of 38.64m which was good for second overall.
- On the men's side, Kevin Waterman had a third-place individual finish in the 1500m recording a time of 4:05.35.
- Dillion Kopec was third in the pole vault with a mark of 3.80m, while David Flowers was seventh in the men's hammer with a throw of 42.44m.
- The men's 4x400m relay team of Waterman, Mykal Dawkins, William Pankey and Julian Edwards, notched a third-place finish with a time of 3:28.02.
Up Next: Roanoke will return to action on March 31 and April 1 at the VertKlasse Meeting at High Point University.
