Briggs and Harlan Each Qualify for NCAA Championships; Maroons Ranked 24th Nationally

Salem, Va. – Roanoke College's Mara Briggs and Quinn Harlan have each qualified for the 2018 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships.

Briggs will compete in the high jump, while Harlan will take part in the 60m. The meet is slated for March 9-10 at Birmingham CrossPlex in Birmingham, Ala.

Briggs qualified after she set a new school record in the high jump with a mark of 1.69 on Saturday. She currently is tied for eighth in all of Dlll with that mark.

The ODAC Rookie of the Year, Harlan ran the second fastest time in the history of Division III at the ODAC Championships when she clocked a 7.46, qualifying her for the National Championship meet.

As a team, RC is ranked 24th in the nation in the latest USTFCCCA poll and the Maroons are ranked No. 4 in the south/southeast poll.
