The Basics
Event: Roanoke Invitational Challenge
Location: Salem, VA
The Lead: For the final time this regular season, Roanoke would host an event in the Cregger Center Field House when the welcomed teams to Salem for the Roanoke Invitational Challenge.
Men's Highlights:
- 4000DMR: Chamberlain Zulauf, Daniel Jewell, Josh Fretwell, and Peter Smith combined for a final time of 11:16.06, the 4th fastest in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference this season.
- 400m: Samuel Crawford took over the top spot in the conference this season with a runner-up time of 50.51.
- 4x400 Relay: Crawford, Brady Fowler, Cameron Harris, and Hunter Bohon earned a 3rd place finish in 3:30.86, taking over the 3rd spot in the ODAC best times for the season.
Women's Highlights:
- High Jump: Kaitlyn Nguyen cleared 1.55m (5'1") to finish 2nd in the event and take over 3rd in the ODAC season top marks.
- Long Jump: Hannah Koepfinger would win the event when she landed a jump of 5.14m (16'10.5")
- Pole Vault: Chloe Van Duyne posted the 3rd best vault with a final height of 3.05m (10'0".
- Triple Jump: Cammi Winston finished runner-up with a jump of 10.28m (33'8.75").
- 4x400 Relay: The team of Lily Lippert, Haylee Gamble, Mikayla Hefferon, and Koepfinger finished 3rd at 4:16.23, the 3rd best time in the conference to date.
Up Next: The Maroons are scheduled to go to Virginia Tech next weekend for one final tune-up prior to the 2022 ODAC Indoor Track & Field Championships later this month.
