The Basics

The Lead: The Roanoke College women's indoor track & field team won five events and secured the team title at the Maroons' home Joe LaRocco Invitational on Saturday.
Women's Highlights:
- Fueled by five first-place finishes, the Maroons totaled 160.5 points, finishing well clear of runner-up Washington and Lee (125 points).
- Cammi Winston took first in both the high jump (personal record 1.60m) and the triple jump (season-best 10.80m). Her high jump mark is tied for the best in the ODAC this season. Winston also finished fifth in the 60m hurdles (9.60 seconds).
- Mikayla Hefferon broke the tape in the 400 with an ODAC-leading time of 59.95 seconds, while Hannah Snodgrass won the 60m hurdles (9.16 seconds), and Allison Sarver finished first in the 5,000 (24:00.79).
- Grace Fowler recorded a pair of second-place finishes, notching distances of 13.86m in the weight throw and 11.45m in the shot put.
- The Maroons swept the top three spots in the high jump. Behind Winston, Kim Roden (1.60m) came in second on a tiebreaker, and Kaitlyn Nguyen (1.55m) placed third.
- Roanoke took the third through sixth slots in the 60m: Eleanor Hinckley finished third (8.01 seconds), followed by Lindsey Hobin (8.03), Kenna Fox (8.04), and Taylor Poole (8.05).
- Other third-place finishers for Roanoke included Haylee Gamble in the 200 (26.36 seconds), Chloe Van Duyne in the pole vault (3.20m), and Clare Kinney in the shot put (11.35m).
- Hobin also came in fourth in the 60m hurdles (9.51 seconds), while Elisabeth Cullen produced a fourth-place showing in the weight throw (13.59m).
- Hinckley placed fifth in the 200 (26.64 seconds), Zoe Dunlap held that spot in the 1 mile (5:25.66), and Abigail McGlothin took fifth in the shot put (10.78m).
- In the team standings, Carnegie Mellon (75 points) came in third, followed by the Maroons' ODAC rivals Bridgewater (68) and Lynchburg (57.5).
Up Next: Roanoke will compete at the Virginia Tech Invitational next weekend. It's the final regular-season tune-up before the Maroons host the ODAC Indoor Championships at Cregger Fieldhouse on Feb. 25-26.
