The Basics
Event: Washington and Lee Carnival
Location: Lexington, VA | Wilson Field
The Lead: The Roanoke College women's track & field team opened up the outdoor season with four first-place showings at W&L.
Women's Highlights:
- The Maroons won both relay races. The 4x100 team of Taylor Poole, Kenna Fox, Lindsey Hobin, and Eleanor Hinckley produced a time of 49.45 seconds, while the 4x400 quartet of Maryrose Molina-Shuman, Lauren Henson, Haylee Gamble, and Mikayla Hefferon won in 4:05.37.
- Hefferon took first in the 400m with a time of 59.08 seconds. Henson finished fourth in 1:01.49.
- Roanoke claimed the top four spots in the high jump. Cammi Winston won the event with a height of 1.53m. Kim Rodan placed second, followed by Hinckley in third and Kaitlyn Nguyen in fourth.
- Grace Fowler was the runner-up in the shot put with a distance of 11.49m.
- Hannah Snodgrass came in second in the 100m hurdles with a time of 15.17 seconds.
- In the pole vault, Chloe Van Duyne's mark of 3.38m was good for second place. Tasha Miller finished fifth at 2.93m.
- Susanna Price came in third in the 3,000m steeplechase in 12:55.31, and Savannah Reid placed fourth at 14:18.43.
- The Maroons also got fourth-place performances from Gamble in the 200m (25.93 seconds), Rodan in the triple jump (10.63m), and Abigail McGlothin in the discus (35.26m).
