The Basics

The Lead: The Roanoke College outdoor women's track and field team competed against a field of mostly Division I and Division II athletes at High Point's VertKlasse Meeting on Friday and Saturday.
Women's Highlights:
- The 4x400 relay team of Lauren Henson, Maryrose Molina-Shuman, Haylee Gamble, and Mikayla Hefferon placed 12th overall and tops among Division III competitors with a time of 4:04.68. That mark is the best in the ODAC so far during the outdoor season.
- Madeleine Rhyne finished 15th in the 3,000m steeplechase with a personal-best time of 14:13.03.
- Ashley Brown placed 32nd overall in the 5,000m in 18:57.88, also a personal record.
- In Group B of the high jump, Kim Rodan came in third with a mark of 1.57m, which leads the ODAC this spring.
- Gamble produced a 12th-place showing in her section of the 200m, clocking a season-best time of 25.68 seconds that currently ranks fifth in the conference.
- Hefferon placed 14th in her group in the 400m with a time of 59.77 seconds.
Up Next: Roanoke will compete in the Dennis Craddock Coaches Classic at the University of Lynchburg on April 14-15.
