The Lead: The Maroons posted eight scoring finishes across three field events on the opening day of the ODAC outdoor meet at Bridgewater.
Sunday Highlights:
- The Maroons claimed a pair of Top 5 performances in the shot put. Grace Fowler came in third at 11.50m, while Claire Kinney notched a fifth-place finish with a distance of 11.26m.
- In the high jump, Kaitlyn Nguyen placed third at 1.61m. Kim Roden came in fifth at 1.58m, and Cammi Winston tied for sixth place with a mark of 1.53m.
- Roanoke also had three athletes score in the hammer throw. Abbey Gajtkowski finished fourth with a distance of 44.10m, followed by Fowler in sixth place (43.25m) and Elisabeth Cullen in eighth (41.91m).
- The Maroons currently sit in fourth place in the team standings with 32.5 points. Lynchburg leads the meet with 59 points, while Shenandoah and Washington and Lee are tied for second with 35 points apiece.
