Roanoke Sweeps Greensboro in Volleyball Action
GREENSBORO, NC --- Roanoke swept Greensboro, 3-0 in non-conference volleyball action Wednesday evening. The Maroons improved to 3-3 while The Pride dropped to 0-5 on the season.

Caitlyn Long (Roanoke, VA, Cave Spring)led the Maroons with 28 assists along with Emily Martin (Daleville, VA, Lord Botetourt)with 14 digs for match-highs. Long has now moved into seventh all-time in career assists, passing Ashley Sweet '96.

Kelsey Largen (Roanoke, VA, Cave Spring)led Roanoke with 10 kills along with three block assists. Maggie Wagner (Roanoke, VA, Cave Spring)finished with nine kills, 11 digs and two aces while Lynsey Ferris (Roanoke, VA, Northside)also led the Maroons with three block assists.

Kylie Lucas (Verona, VA, Fort Defiance)and Rachel Hawkins (Winchester, VA, Millbrook)had five kills each. Hawkins also added two block assists as well.

The women willt travel to Emory, VA this weekend to play in the Emory & Henry Invitational. They start on Friday against Meredith (4:30 p.m.) and LaGrange (8 p.m.). On Saturday the Maroons will face USA-South foes Averett (12:30 p.m.) and Ferrum (4:30 p.m.).
