Volleyball drops heartbreaker to Emory & Henry, 3-2
SALEM --- Roanoke Volleyball dropped a five-set heartbreaker to Emory & Henry in ODAC action at the Bast Center Wednesday evening. The loss drops the Maroons to 4-17 overall, 1-5 in the ODAC. The Wasps improve to 12-6, 4-3 in conference play.

The Wasps won with scores of 25-23, 19-25, 25-19, 25-21 and 15-8. It was the Maroons sixth five-set contest of the season.

Fallon Davis led E&H with 47 assists along with nine digs. Jamie Cockerham had 17 kills and 14 digs to lead the Wasps to fourth-place in the ODAC Standings. Sam Lucado had 19 digs, followed by Morgan Grant with 16 in addition to 12 kills.

Kelsey Largen (Roanoke, VA, Cave Spring) led RC with 17 kills and 20 digs to pass Maggie Wagner '11 for fourth all-time in that career category with 1,014. She enters this weekend needing only 13 kills to become only the fourth player in Roanoke Volleyball history with 1,000 in a career.

Shannon Stone (Williamsburg, VA, Lafayette) finished the night with 42 assists and 20 digs, followed by Sarah Long (Midlothian, VA, Midlothian High School) who tallied 14 kills and eight digs for the Maroons. Rachel Hawkins (Winchester, VA, Millbrook) totaled five blocks (three solo) and moved into 11th place on the career block assists list with 81.

The women will return to action this weekend in their final two home matches of the season. The Maroons will square off against Virginia Wesleyan on Friday at 7 p.m. followed by Senior Day against Randolph-Macon at 11 a.m. Both contests will be held at the Bast Center.
