SALEM - The Roanoke College volleyball team lost in three sets (15-25, 20-25, 16-25) to Lynchburg in it's ODAC Opener on Wednesday, September 5th. The Maroons currently hold a record of 1-4, 0-1 ODAC, while Lynchburg advances to 4-0, 1-0 in ODAC play.

The Maroons are 37-19 all-time against the Hornets. Lynchburg has won the last three meetings between the two teams.

Samantha Klostermann led the Maroons in Kills with seven, followed by Rachel Kilinski with four. Shannon Stone was the top Roanoke player in assists where she dished out 12. Samantha Toy pulled out eight digs during the three sets, followed by Mackenzie Tyree with seven. Sarah Long finished the contest with four block assists.

The Maroons return to action on September 8-9 as they travel to play in the Greensboro Invitational. They will face off against Agnes Scott College, Peace College, Greensboro College, and Guilford College. Their first match will be Saturday September 8th against Agnes Scott College, which is slated for a 12:00 PM start.
