Volleyball Goes 1-2 in Pioneer Classic Over Weekend
MARIETTA, OH – The Roanoke College volleyball team went 1-2 over the weekend at the Pioneer Classic, hosted by Marietta College. The Maroons now have a record of 9-7 on the season.

Roanoke started the weekend against Denison University, where the Maroons were topped 3-0 (25-17, 25-9, 25-10). Samantha Klostermann led the Maroons in kills with six, going along with her 11 digs. Alexandra Martin finished the game with eight assists, paired with her 10 digs. Macey Tyree tallied a team high 12 digs on the afternoon. Tyree and Carrie Heldreth each finished with one service ace.

The Maroons took on Marietta College on Sunday afternoon, falling 3-0 (25-19, 25-21, 25-13). Klostermann again topped the team with 12 of Roanoke's 26 kills. Jeccia Block led the team in Assists with 11, followed by Alexandra Martin with eight. Mackenzie Tyree finished with a team-high 17 digs, followed by Macey Tyree with 11. Carrie Heldreth tallied two service aces.

On Saturday evening, the Maroons took on West Virginia Tech, picking up a 3-0 (25-14, 25-15, 25-18) victory. Stats for that match will be posted here as they become available.

The Maroons return to action on Tuesday, September 24th as they take on Mary Baldwin College on the road. That contest Is scheduled for a 7:00 PM start.
