LYNCHBURG � The Roanoke College volleyball team fell in four sets to Lynchburg College, 3-1 on Friday evening.� The Maroons now have a record of 15-9; 5-4 in the ODAC, while the Hornets have a mark of 11-11; 6-3 in ODAC play.

The Maroons won the second set of the four set contest (17-25; 25-23; 14-25; 17-25).� Roanoke jumped out to an 8-3 lead in the second set off of the serves of Allison White and Carrie Heldreth.� The Hornets won the next four points, bringing Lynchburg back within one, 8-7.� The Maroons extended their lead to four off of a pair of service aces and a kill by Allison White.� Roanoke's four point lead held all the way through the set, as the Maroons had a 22-18 advantage late in the set.� Lynchburg won the next three points off of Brittany Crawford serves, but Carrie Heldreth served for Roanoke's 24^th point, and Samantha Klostermann picked up Roanoke's 25^th point to win the set.� Lynchburg went on to win the third and fourth set to win the match 3-1.

Samantha Klostermann led the Maroons in kills with 11, followed by Mackenzie Allen with seven.� Jessica Block and Alexandra Martin each tallied 13 assists.� Mackenzie Tyree had a team high 18 digs, followed by Martin who had 14.� Sarah Long had a total of two blocks on the evening.

The Maroons return to action on Tuesday, October 22^nd as they face off against Hollins University.� That contest is scheduled for a 6:30 PM start.
