Bostwick Named Rookie of the Year, Long Earns Third Team All-ODAC Honors
FOREST, Va. --- Randolph-Macon College took home a pair of special honors to lead the 2014 All-ODACVolleyball Awards.  Yellow Jackets' outside hitter Courtney Lowers was named the ODAC Player of the Year, while R-MC mentor Bill Rogers took home ODAC Coach of the Year accolades.  Roanoke College middle hitter Brooke Bostwick was tabbed the ODAC Rookie of the Year, while Washington and Lee University setter Alex Kinzer earned the ODAC/Virginia Farm Bureau Mutual Insurance Scholar-Athlete award.

Bostwick was named both ODAC Rookie of the Year as well as earning Second Team All-ODAC honors.  Senior Sarah Long was tabbed with Third Team All-ODAC accolades.

Bostwick, a freshman from Pilot, Va., was an integral part in both the Maroons' offense and defense in her first season.  She led the squad with 253 kills, adding 91 digs and 74 total blocks, the seventh-most in the league.  Her 58 block assists rank fourth.  Bostwick notched double figures in kills in 11 matches played, including a season-best 17 in a non-conference win at Methodist University.  She had six blocks twice in a match, both coming in Roanoke wins over Southern Virginia (3-2) and Bridgewater (3-1).  Bostwick is the first player in the history of Roanoke College volleyball to be named ODAC Rookie of the Year.

Long, a senior from Midlothian, VA picks up her first All-ODAC honors, being named to the Third Team in 2014.  Long tallied 220 kills over the course of the season.  Her 57 block assists ranked fifth in the ODAC, and her 70 total blocks ranked 10th.  She also finished the 2014 season with 36 digs, 13 block solos, and seven assists.  Long ranks in the top-10 all-time at Roanoke College in six different statistical categories including: block assists (2nd – 167), games played (2nd – 415), total blocks (6th – 234), attack attempts (7th – 2270), kills (8th – 810) and matches played (9th – 115).
