The Lead: Roanoke College capped its regular season schedule Sunday by defeating Averett 3-0 after dropping a 3-0 decision to Virginia Wesleyan earlier in the day.

How it Happed:
  • RC dropped the match to the Marlins by the scores of 26-24, 26-24 and 25-19.
  • Sydney Daniel led RC with 13 kills, while Shelby Frost had eight and Kylah Blackmore had seven.
  • Jessica Block dished out 27 assists and had 15 digs, while Alexandra Martin had 12 digs and Blackmore had 11 stops of her own.
  • Against Averett, RC rebounded from the VWC loss to take out the Cougars 25-18, 28-26 and 25-16.
  • Blackmore recorded a double-double with a team-best 10 kills to go along with 13 digs defensively.
  • Daniel had nine kills and Allison White had seven. Logan Graves had six blocks, Blackmore had four and White had two.
  • Block had 30 helpers and Martin had a match-high 18 digs in the win.
