The Lead: Roanoke Volleyball saw its seven match winning streak come to an end on Friday night as Lynchburg scored a 3-0 home win over the Maroons.

How it Happened:

  • Kylah Blackmore led the Maroons with eight kills. Logan Graves had seven kills, while Alex Wolfe and Shelby Frost each had six.
  • Jessica Block had 28 assists in the loss to go along with nine digs on the defensive side of the net. Blackmore and Ryan Hedgepeth led the Maroons with 14 digs apiece, while Graves and Grace Parrish each had two blocks.
  • In game one it was 21-19 LC before the Hornets won the next three points and four of the last five all together to take the game.
  • Game two saw RC down 20-15 before rallying, making it 21-18 after a Hornet hitting error but that would be as close as they would get LC won four of the final five points to take a 2-0 lead.
  • Lynchburg was able to capitalize on 10 hitting errors by the Maroons on 46 attempts to win game three and secure the victory.
  • RC hit just .104 as a team and had 12 receiving errors on the night. Jennifer Garrett had 13 kills to lead Lynchburg.
Up Next: RC is right back in action tomorrow when it travels to Randolph for a 3:00 p.m. match.
