Bailey Earns Second ODAC Player of the Week Honor

Forest, Va. – Roanoke College freshman Linsey Bailey has been named the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Player of the Week for the second time this season.

Bailey, a freshman from Fincastle, Va., picks up her second weekly award of the season after leading Roanoke to a trio of ODAC wins last week. Bailey registered no fewer than 16 kills in a match on the way to averaging 5.44 kills and 5.9 points per set while hitting .380 over the three contests. She opened with 16 kills and a .333 hitting percentage to go with 12 digs and two aces in a 3-0 victory over Guilford. She accounted for 18.0 points at a 6.0 per-set average in that match. Bailey collected 16 more kills while hitting .286 along with seven digs and a block 3-0 victory at Lynchburg. She capped her week with 17 winners against just one error in 29 attempts for a .552 hitting percentage in a 3-0 win over Eastern Mennonite at Lynchburg. She added 10 digs, an ace, and a block on the way to racking up 18.5 points for a 6.2 per-set average. For the season, Bailey leads the ODAC in kills (211) and kills per set (4.06) and ranks second in points (230.5), points per set (4.4), and total attacks (562).

Roanoke is back in action on Monday when it hosts Washington and Lee at 7:00 p.m.
