Linsey Bailey Named ODAC Rookie of the Year; Daniel Earns Third-Team Honors

FOREST, Va. – Roanoke College's Linsey Bailey has been named the 2018 ODAC Rookie of the Year and First-Team All-ODAC selection, while senior Sydney Daniel was named Third-Team All-ODAC.

Bailey is the first, first-team selection since 2010. The Fincastle, Va. native made an immediate impact for RC by leading the ODAC in kills with 418 and kills per game with 4.45. Her .255 hitting percentage ranks ninth best in the ODAC. Defensively she posted 339 digs and 3.61 digs per set which both rank 14th in the league.  A three-time ODAC Player of the Week, Bailey had double-digit kills in all but two of the 27 matches she played in. She had 18 double-doubles on the year and 20 or more kills on six different occasions.

An Ashburn, Va. native, Daniel capped her career by recording 291 kills which ranked 10th most in the ODAC and her 3.10 kills per set was ninth. She also recorded 297 digs on the defensive side of the net which was 18th best in the ODAC. Daniel had seven double-doubles on the season.

Roanoke finished the season 17-10 and 8-4 in the ODAC.
