SALEM, Va. – The Roanoke College women's volleyball team has been selected eighth in the 2022 ODAC Preseason Poll as announced by the conference. The Maroons collected 70 points in the poll.

Defending ODAC champion Washington and Lee secured the top spot in the poll with 144 points and 12 first-place votes. 2021 ODAC runner-up Virginia Wesleyan is picked second with 122 points and the last first-place vote among the league coaches. Randolph-Macon is third with 119 points while ODAC newcomer Averett is picked fourth and Bridgewater is picked fifth.

Lynchburg is sixth among the conference teams with 92 points and Eastern Mennonite is one spot ahead of the Maroons in seventh with 84 points. Behind RC in the poll is Shenandoah in ninth with 58 points, Guilford in 10th with 42 points, and Randolph in 11th with 38 points. Ferrum and Hollins are picked 12th with 23 points and 13th with 14 points, respectively.

The Maroons open the season this weekend when they visit Danville for the 2022 Cougar Classic hosted by Averett. RC will play a pair of games both days starting off with Bob Jones and William Peace on September 2. The Maroons turn around the next morning and take on Piedmont and Meredith on Saturday, Sept. 3.

The next weekend the team returns to the Cregger Center to host the 2022 Maroon Classic taking on Salem, Methodist, N.C. Wesleyan, and Mary Baldwin over the two-day event.

RC then gets right into ODAC play beginning with a match at WLU on Sept. 13 and stays on the road for a contest at BC on Sept. 15. The Maroons begin a three-match homestand with Guilford (Sept. 20), Shenandoah (Sept. 23), and EMU (Sept. 24) all visiting Cregger.

For the next month, RC is on the road with 10-straight matches away from Salem. These include ODAC contests at Ferrum (Sept. 27), VWU (Sept. 30), R-MC (October 1), Lynchburg (Oct. 14), Randolph (Oct. 15), and Hollins (Oct. 19). The Maroons will also play non-conference match-ups with Meredith (Oct. 11), Salem (Oct. 17), Goucher (Oct. 22), and Rutgers-Camden (Oct. 22 at Goucher).

Returning home for the final home match of the regular season on Oct. 25, RC takes on Averett. The ODAC Tournament features a quarterfinal round on Nov. 2 with semifinals and championship on Nov. 4 and Nov. 6, respectively.
