The Short Story: The Roanoke College women's volleyball team dropped a tight four-set match on Family Weekend to Eastern Mennonite 3-1. The Maroons won the second set in extra points.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Royals used an early push in the first set and pulled away for the 25-18 set one win.
- The Maroons, down 15-9, came back and forced extra points and claimed the second set 26-24 to even the match at one set apiece.
- Roanoke had set point in the third set, but the Royals came back and took a 2-1 set lead with a 30-28 win in the third set.
- EMU went on to win the fourth set 25-17 and the match three sets to one.
BY THE NUMBERS
- Rylee Mayer had a team-high 13 kills against the Royals with Peyton Kirchner also reaching double-digit kills with 11.
- Kennedy Clemmer had 16 digs while Jordan Gorman had 10.
- Kylee Draper had her seventh double-double with 21 assists and 10 digs.
