The Short Story: The Roanoke College women's volleyball team dropped a non-conference match in Raleigh to Meredith, 3-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The two teams went back and forth early on in the opening set with MC having a 12-11 lead. The Avenging Angels began to pull away at 15-14 and secured the first set 25-21.
• The Maroons had a lead of 3-2 in the second set, but MC used a few small runs to come back and win the second set 25-11.
• The Avenging Angels led late in the third set at 21-17 but the Maroons came back and tied the score up at 21-21 and had a set point at 25-24. However, MC won four of the final five points to win the set 28-26 and the match 3-0

BY THE NUMBERS

• Rylee Mayer led the Maroons with a team-high 13 kills.
• Kylee Draper nearly had a double-double with 18 assists and nine digs.
