Hudson, Maier and Miller earn NFHCA National Academic Squad

The National Field Hockey Coaches Association named Elizabeth Hudson, Megan Maier and Kelly Miller to the 2007 ZAG/NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad announced this afternoon.

Hudson finished her career fourth all-time in points (91) and seventh in goals with 34. She was an All-ODAC selection all four years.  The Culpepper County product finished her final season first in goals (5) and second in scoring with 11 points.

Maier appeared in 14 games, starting nine times. She had two points on season, with two shots, one on goal. The Westminster, MD native scored her first career goal vs. Drew (9/2). The Winters Mill product was a distinguished scholar-athlete in high school and was a member of the 2006 Maryland state semi-finalists. She was a two-time second-team all-county selection.

The 2006 team finished 3-11 overall and 2-5 in conference play with only three home games last season. With two teams (Randolph College and Hollins) that cancelled their seasons, the Maroons could have finished with a possible five wins total, a two-win improvement from last season.
