Horner earns Second-Team VaSID All-State Honors
Senior Emily Horner was named Second-Team VaSID All-State announced this afternoon. This is the first time in her career that she has garnered this honor. She also was a Second-Team All-ODAC selection last month for the first time in her career.

Horner, a defender from Long Valley, NJ, was a team captain for the Maroons this fall. She anchored the backfield and totaled four defensive saves. In addition, she had a goal on a penalty stroke against Swarthmore in the season-opener and added an assist against Randolph-Macon in the ODAC-opener. She had a season-best two defensive saves against Mary Washington and had three shots on goal against Wesley.

The Maroons finished with the same win total from last season against quality competition. In their three wins, the women outscored their opponents, 16-3. Half of the team's losses came by two goals or less, four of those coming to NCAA Tournament teams and two more to NCAA Div. II schools. The 28 goals scored this season were the most since the 2004 season.
