The National Academic Squad recognizes those student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher through the first semester of the 2011-12 academic year.
Hachborn, a sophomore forward/midfielder, also earned ODAC All-Academic honors this fall for the Maroons. She started in 15 of 17 games played and tied a team-best seven goals on the season. The Maine native was second in scoring (17pts) and led the team in both shots (36) and shots on goal (26). Her first career hat trick came against Sweet Briar (9/24).
McCarthy, a sophomore midfielder, earned ODAC All-Academic honors this fall. She started in 17 of 18 games, finishing the season with two goals and two assists. She recorded her first goal of the season against Limestone (9/1) and the second in a 6-0 victory over Sweet Briar (9/24). Seven of her 11 shots on the season were on target, for a .636 shots on goal percentage.
Gaalen, from the Netherlands, appeared in nine games for the Maroons this fall. Hurley was also a first-year player for the Maroons.
The Maroons finsihed 6-12 overall, 4-4 in the ODAC this fall. They won two games against Washington and Lee (2-1) and Virginia Wesleyan (2-1) to send Roanoke to the 2011 ODAC Tournament.
