Field Hockey falls to Liberty, 4-1 in non-conference Action
LYNCHBURG --- Liberty topped Roanoke, 4-1 in non-conference field hockey action Wednesday afternoon.  The Maroons slip to 3-7 while the Flames improve to 4-6 in their first season of varsity competition.
 
The Flames outshot the Maroons, 20-4, including 10-1 in shots on goal.  LU had nine penalty corners while RC was blanked in that category.
 
Kelly Finn (Fairhaven, NJ, Rumson Fair Haven) led the Maroons with three of the four shots on the day, including the teams' only goal of the contest.
 
Kelly Finn (Fairhaven, NJ, Rumson Fair Haven) totaled six saves for Roanoke.  Brooke Morley had one for Liberty as Ann Jefferis took the win in goal for the Flames, playing the first 46 minutes.
 
The women will take on both Centre (Ky.) and Sewanee (Tenn.) this weekend in non-conference action in Tennessee.
