Four Maroons Earn All-ODAC Honors in Field Hockey
FOREST, Va. - Four defensive Roanoke Field Hockey players earned All-ODAC honors for the 2011 season.  Sophomore Laura Stavetski was named to the Second Team All-ODAC, while Alexa Nuhn, Lichelle Pace, and Tina Scichilone were named to the All-ODAC Third Team.

Stavetski started in all 18 contests for the Maroons in 2011 and was a big part of their defensive backfield.  She finished ranked second in the ODAC in defensive saves with six.  Stavetski also notched two assists to her record in games against Stevenson and Sweet Briar.

Freshman Alexa Nuhn earned her first All-ODAC honors after a successful defensive year.  Nuhn started all 18 games for Roanoke, and made one defensive save.  She also recorded an assist in a contest against Liberty on October 5th.

Junior Lichelle Pace played in every contest for the Maroons this season.  She recorded two defensive saves and attempted two shots.

Scichilone picked up her second All-ODAC nod this year.  Scichilone started in cage for all 18 games for the Maroons and ranked third in the conference in saves with 152 (8.44 spg).  She picked up six wins in the most successful season for the Field Hockey team since 2004.

The Maroons finsihed 6-12 overall, 4-4 in the ODAC this fall.  They won two games against Washington and Lee (2-1) and Virginia Wesleyan (2-1) to send Roanoke to the 2011 ODAC Tournament.
