Field Hockey Edged in 1-0 Loss to Gettysburg
GETTYSBURG - The Roanoke College Field Hockey team dropped a contest to Gettysburg with a 1-0 margin on Sunday.  The Maroons move to 0-2 on the season while the Bullets advance to 2-0.

Gettysburg opened up in the first three minutes and found the back of the cage off a shot by Kristen Olenick.  Both teams would battle back and forth over the next 67 minutes, but neither team would score again over that time.  The Bullets came away with the 1-0 victory over the Maroons.

Allison Denton had the Maroons' lone shot on the day, while Laura Stavetski tallied one defensive save.  Darian Shuker played in goal for all 70 minutes and accumulated 10 saves.

Roanoke returns to action on Tuesday, September 4th as they travel to Fredericksburg to face off against the University of Mary Washington.  That contest is scheduled for a 4:00 PM start.
