UNION, N.J. - The Roanoke College field hockey team fell in non-conference action to Kean University on Saturday afternoon, 8-2. The Maroons now have a record of 1-4, while the Cougars are 8-0.

Roanoke ran up against a very tough team in Kean. The Maroons did, however, post the most goals seen against the Cougars this season with two, as Kean has posted five shutouts in eight contests.

The Maroons finished with two goals against the team with the nation's top scoring defense, off of the sticks of Elyse Law and Kellie Jasinski, who each tallied one goal. Roanoke's two goals came in d in the second half, as Elyse Law scored in the 39^th minute of the game off of a rebounded shot. Jasinski scored the final goal of the contest at the 59:16 mark tallying her, team high, fourth goal of the season.

Roanoke fired off seven shots during the contest, led by Law and Shelbi Holloman who tallied two shots each. Also taking a shot for the Maroons were Emily McQueen, Jasinski and Mariel Hunt with one apiece. Candice Fisher played all 70 minutes in the cage and tallied 10 saves.

The Cougars of Keane came out of the gates hot, scoring six of their seven goals in the first half. They were led by Korri Thompson, who finished the contest with four goals. Thompson leads the team in scoring with nine total goals on the season.

The Maroons return to action on Sunday, September 22^nd as they travel to Bethlehem, PA to take on Moravian College. That contest is scheduled for a 2:00 PM start.
