BETHLEHEM, PA - The Roanoke College field hockey fell to Moravian College, 4-2 on Sunday afternoon in non-conference action. After the weekend the Maroons now have a record of 1-5, while the Greyhounds have a record of 5-3.

The Greyhounds scored early as Catherine Duffin found the back of the cage with a tap in off a crossing pass from Keriann Badessa. Duffin returned the favor just four minutes later as she was on the front end of a give and go that saw Badessa score her first goal of the game, giving Moravian a 2-0 lead. Roanoke held off the Greyhounds for the remainder of the half, entering halftime down by two.

Badessa scored her second goal of the game just two minutes into the second half. Roanoke responded just a few minutes later as Emily McQueen scored her second goal of the season, reeling in a crossing pass from Shelbi Holloman. With 27 minutes left to play, Roanoke trailed 3-1. Moravian's Chelsea Grotyohann scored the team's fourth goal off of another Badessa assist, taking a 4-1 lead. With just six minutes left in the game, Isabella Lucia scored for the Maroons, picking up her second goal of the season. However that was the final goal of the contest, and Roanoke fell 4-2 to Moravian.

The Maroons were outshot 26-9 in the game, and were led in shots by Emily McQueen and Kelly Finn with two shots each. They were followed by Lucia, Fluer Moorlag, Shannon McCarthy, Mariel Hunt and Shelbi Holloman who had one shot apiece. Candice Fisher played all 70 minutes in the cage and tallied 16 saves.

The Maroons return to action on Saturday, September 28^th as they play host to Virginia Wesleyan in their ODAC opener. That contest is scheduled for a 1:00 PM start.
